Supra Dreams and Cobra Wishes
Well currently I’m at work and there’s no one here so I think I’ll do my daily blogpost now. Working at the pacific coffee on the peak today so good view and it seems fun. Barely anyone here so I’ve been trying to master the art of flicking plastic milk carton caps but so far unsuccessful. I feel like I’m just annoying my coworkers which may bite me in the ass in the long run. I was however offered a fag (that means a smoke for all of you who may be offended). However being the child of god that I am, I declined while proclaiming that I do indeed quite enjoy having fully functional lungs. But other then that, nothing much had happened. Oh wait, I was late to work by about ten minutes because of the stupid tram.
Update: I forgot I was writing something for my blog and I have resumed writing at a fathers day dinner. So anyways, currently I’m in my stepmom’s sister’s house where she is married to a rich canto-pop singer. To put things in perspective, he owns a three story house overlooking the bay in clear water bay. He also owns a multi-thousand dollar collector edition millennium falcon which is about 2 1/2 feet long and 1 1/2 feet wide. It’s massive and looks so cool I kinda want one. Except for the part where I have to shell out thousands of dollars. My step cousins are also vastly spoiled with memberships to Hong Kong’s most exclusive clubs, private drivers, 2 houses in HK and 2 maids. Lavish lifestyle for 2 kids who had a private concert in their house with one direction. Yeah you heard me, the entire one direction band played in their living room. To be honest, yeah this life would be good but in all honesty, I wouldn’t mind something quieter. Like a house on a farm or in a field somewhere. The house from Superman comes to mind. Where I’d own a fun car, maybe have a dirt runway outback where I could land my small prop plane. My current life plan is go to HKUST, graduate and move to the US to work at an aerospace company like Boeing or depending on where university courses take me, possibly a space agency cause let’s be honest. That’s cool as shit. Compared to Hong Kong, housing is not expensive there so in the ideal world, I’d get a house near Santa Monica. Preferably on the beachfront, right behind the strand. Houses aren’t small but they aren’t big so I wouldn’t mind. I’d also have two cars, a converted Volkswagen Beetle which is now a beach buggy where I can drive around with friends and also a day to day car. I always though an old mustang like one from the 60s would be cool but I don’t think it would be practical for day to day use. Maybe I’d get a GTR or a Supra. Thing about Supras though is that you’re supposed to heavily customize them. Don’t think I’d want to do that though, I’m more of a buy the car in stock and leave it like that. Actually now that I think about it, I’d have three cars. The beach buggy for friends and stuff, a day to day, and then also my favorite car, a Shelby cobra 427. Now the problem with the Shelby is that an original costs hundreds of thousands if not millions. So the closest approximation would be to get a replica 427 made of fiberglass or something. They can be fitted with different engines like on youtube I saw a guy who fitted it with a jaguar engine. Shifting and the transmission used to be a problem on the Shelbys because it was really hard to work. But I think a replica where you fit your own would essentially make it better than the original. However it does have to be a V8, that is obvious. Or instead I’d take a Jag E-Type. The grand tour actually did a pretty interesting episode on it where I found out that the factory that made the originals burned down and all the plans were lost. Recently, Jaguar decided to restart production so they bought an original then stripped it down to the bare components. They did have the blueprints for the engine however so I guess a silver lining.
